With Rep. Tom MacArthur

My dear friend Elizabeth Wolf and I had the pleasure of spending some time on the afternoon April 5th with our NJ 3rd district Congressman Tom MacArthur to discuss our nation’s Alzheimer’s public health crisis.

Rep. MacArthur expressed his concern regarding the emotional and economic cost of Alzheimer’s as we candidly spoke about the recent passing of his father.

My Dad passed away yesterday. He was a good man, full of optimism, and a strong sense of duty. I’ll always be grateful…Posted by Congressman Tom MacArthur on Thursday, March 8, 2018

Congressman MacArthur has voted for the support of legislation that is very important to the Alzheimer’s Association and those of us living with Alzheimer’s and our caregivers including the:

  • Additional funding for Alzheimer’s research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH)
  • H.R. 4256 Building Our Largest Dementia (BOLD) Infrastructure for Alzheimer’s Act – The bill would create a much-needed Alzheimer’s public health infrastructure to address Alzheimer’s.
  • H.R. 1676 Palliative Care and Hospice Education and Training Act – The bill would increase palliative care and hospice training for health care professionals, launch a national campaign to inform patients and families about the benefits of palliative care, and enhance research on improving the delivery of palliative care.

Thank you, Congressman and your staff, for your continued committed support and willingness to meet with those of us from the Alzheimer’s Association Greater NJ Chapter to move the ball forward to a world without Alzheimer’s.
